Dr. Rony Nazarian received his bachelors of science from Dickinson College Cum Laude with honors in Biology. During his time at Dickinson College he was the recipient of the distinguished Spencer Fullerton Baird prize for research in biology. After graduating, Dr. Nazarian completed a year of extensive molecular genetics research at the University of Pennsylvania where he published in nationally recognized peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Nazarian went on to earn his Medical degree at Albany Medical College in upstate NY. He completed a surgical internship at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital and then continued his Orthopaedic residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He received extensive training in all aspects of Orthopaedic surgery during his time in Albany, NY.
After completing residency he finished a Spine Fellowship at the renowned New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA. In this combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery fellowship Dr. Nazarian received specialized training in degenerative, congenital, and deformity surgery. There he learned both non-operative treatments of spine disorders as well as traditional and minimally invasive approaches to surgery. Dr. Nazarian has extensive training in minimally invasive spine surgery for decompression and/or fusions. These newer tubular approaches allow for less blood loss, smaller incisions, shorter hospital stay and less pain from surgery.
