
Patella dislocations are a common cause of cartilage defects and injuries in the knee. Very often, if the cartilage is injured during a dislocation, any surgery to repair it should be combined with a stabilizing procedure (ie: tibial tubercle osteotomy or MPFL reconstruction) in order to allow proper healing of the cartilage repair surgery and prevent further dislocation in the future
