POA's Orthopaedic Surgery Center in New Jersey

An outpatient surgery center, also sometimes called an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), is a facility built for procedures that don't require a hospital admission. They can do a wide range of procedures, as well. So the benefits of not visiting a hospital are large. The POA Surgery Center is dedicated entirely to orthopaedic care and surgery.

It's a standalone, three-room surgical facility with its own operating rooms, its own recovery area and its own team, separate from any hospital. We're deeply proud to offer this to the communities we serve.

A hospital cares for every kind of patient. We do one thing: orthopaedic surgery. Everyone who works here is excellent at what they do and sees complex orthopaedic cases every day. The building was planned around the orthopaedic patient, down to where each door is placed. We consider ourselves a community of extraordinary care.

It's also smaller than a hospital, by design. In a large hospital with hundreds of employees, it's hard to get to know anyone. Here, your surgeon hand-selected the staff. The people caring for you know who you are. Our surgeons choose the equipment and implants themselves, and the standard is what we would want used for our own families.

Our surgeons perform a wide range of orthopaedic procedures at the POA Surgery Center. While it is not possible to list all of the procedures, there are examples in the list above. Not every procedure is right for an outpatient setting. And we know not all patients will be comfortable with it. Your surgeon will talk with you about whether the POA Surgery Center is a good fit for you and your situation.

The POA Surgery Center was designed, built and staffed by the surgeons who operate in it. We designed it around what is best for our patients and what allows us to do our best work. This is our 'Home Court' and it's for orthopaedic surgery only. Surgical centers are often considered more safe than a hospital because there are drastically fewer people being seen: so there's less chance for infections or sickness exposure. Plus, it's a much more focused environment for the surgeons to work in.

Princeton Orthopaedic Associates owns it. There is no outside investor, no hospital system and no management company. Our surgeons planned it, paid for it and run it.
