At POA We Value Our Patients
I have a rather extensive history with Dr. Abrams and his PA, Herb Williams. I have had 4 surgeries with them ranging in time from 2005 to 2014. I can honestly say I love these two men. They have been so kind and caring over all these years.
My first experience with Dr. Jeffrey Abrams was in November of 2005. I had a severe rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder which required surgery. My surgery took place at the end of December 2005. First, the nurses at the surgery center were terrific! My surgery required twice the time they had anticipated, but Dr. Abrams was very thorough in finding and repairing all the damage I had – a major tear to the subscapularis and supraspinatus as well as a total tear with retraction of the long head of the biceps tendon. All his work was done with minimal invasiveness (arthroscopically) which minimized scarring and disfiguration, not to mention, recovery time.
On surgery day, prior to my surgery, Dr. Abrams personally came around to me to chat about the surgery, and to generally see how I was doing and if I had any questions. He has a very kind and gentle way about him. I was sent home in a sling with a couple of prescriptions. A day or two after surgery, I was contacted by the surgery center to see how I was doing. All in all, just a great experience (as far as surgical procedures go).
Since my initial surgery, I have returned for 3 other surgeries with Dr. Abrams. Dr. Abrams went back into my right shoulder 9 months after the initial surgery to release scar tissue that was preventing movement. In 2009, Dr. Abrams performed a similar surgery on my left shoulder, and then in 2013, he went into my right shoulder again because I was complaining of pain. That time, he “cleaned up” my shoulder by removing old sutures, a bone spur, and some arthritis, and let me say this…my right shoulder feels the best it has in 14 years!
Although the waiting time is excessive for office visits, Dr. Abrams and Herb make me feel like a family member when I see them. They aren’t all business. They take the time to ask about my family and my overall well-being. They take the time for my concerns and questions, and never rush me through an office visit. I just love Dr. Abrams and Herb Williams. They are two very caring and compassionate professionals.

My experience with the POA office at Monroe has been very positive. The office staff was always polite, efficient, and accommodating.
Dr. Vannozzi is friendly, professional, and responsive. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and reassuring. His surgical coordinator, Denise, was very, very helpful in organizing MRI appointments, pre-admission appointments and guiding me along with additional appointments I needed to make, i.e, with my primary physician, cardiac, etc. She was available for questions and guidance throughout the pre-surgical period.
Dr. Vannozzi’s physician assistant, Dishank, proved himself invaluable to Dr. Vannozzi and his patients, as Dishank was consistently available for questions pre-surgery, post-surgery, medication queries, etc. He always returned calls in a timely manner.
I cannot say enough about my experiences in both May and October of this year. I would gladly recommend Dr. Vannozzi and his team of professionals to whoever is considering knee or hip replacement.

Brian Vannozzi is the Doctor who saved my life. I can tell you the following about this very special person who came into my life:
After a traumatic experience of shattering my hip, I was fortunate to go to Princeton Hospital and through resources my family found Dr. Brian Vannozzi. He operated and replaced my hip. Fortunately, he was trained in the latest method in hip replacements.
I attribute my being able to walk, swim, dance, run and lead a normal life today to my attitude and Dr. Vannozzi’s skill. Everyone has a different pain tolerance and mental attitude. We all have different physical abilities and different circumstances. His bedside manner, integrity, honesty, knowledge of the newest procedures, and his dedication as a doctor is just the beginning of who he is. He cares!
Unfortunately, statistics show that 50% of the people who break their hip after the age of 55 will die. Of the 50% that live, only 25% will walk again without any assistance. I have recommended many people who need a routine hip or knee replacement to Dr. Vannozzi. The feedback has only been positive. With great respect, I remain, happy at 72 years young!

In the spring of 2013, Dr. Marc Lamb performed my carpal tunnel and trigger thumb surgery with great success. I had tremendous pain and numbness all the time, and it affected my daily working life and sleeping at night also. I must say my outcome was that I no longer experience any pain or numbness at all; this was more than I even hoped for. I work with someone in a different hospital who had the same surgery (with a different surgeon), and he still experiences pain and numbness.
I feel very fortunate to have had Dr. Lamb as my surgeon. Not only was he an excellent surgeon, he had a wonderful bedside manner, a kind, and gentle hand, and he listened to everything I had to say. Thank you to Dr. Marc Lamb and, of course, I highly recommend him!

Earlier this year, I ruptured my Achilles tendon playing basketball. My early thoughts of surgery in a hospital for the first time had me extremely concerned. I had no idea of what to expect going forward. However, from the very first office visit, Dr. Hasan has been absolutely wonderful. From her first diagnosis where surgery became a reality, thru each cast replacement and follow-up session, she has exceeded my expectations and washed away my concerns with a calm and direct demeanor. I have continued to make progress and am very thankful for her expertise in handling my case.
While in the casts, I was told by friends (who had similar injuries) of the stories of the “dreaded” rehab and therapy I’d have to endure over the coming months. I decided to attend therapy sessions at your Monroe location since it was close to my work office. I am very pleased to state that my friends had it all wrong (or just went to the wrong places). Mona Slansky and the rest of your physical therapy group in Monroe have been absolutely superb. Mona has been right on the ball in each and every step I have taken and has made my rehab a very rewarding experience. The entire group has been pleasant and very easy to work with. I have looked forward to each and every session I have attended, mostly due to the pleasant and professional atmosphere your group at Monroe has displayed while getting me back to a state where I am close to attempting to hit the courts again.
If it wasn’t for the severity of the injury, I might say that I was glad it happened. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t have met such an excellent group of friendly professionals. Once again, many thanks!!!

I started seeing Dr. Vannozzi for an old injury to my right knee. He was doing injections in the knee in preparation for knee replacement surgery in the near future. Then, when I injured my left knee at work, I knew immediately that I wanted Dr. Vannozzi for it also. He was caring and considerate and didn’t jump on the “you must have surgery immediately” bandwagon. We discussed my options and did the conservative approach first, of arthroscopic and injections. Then, when the knee got worse, we discussed total knee replacement. He walked me through every step, letting me know what to expect at every turn. I had total confidence in him and knew that I would get the best care in a professional and caring manner. He was there for me, answering all my questions, and was always available when I called. It was a long process from surgery to rehab to where I am today and Dr. Vannozzi has been with me every step of the way. I have total confidence in him and his abilities and I feel like I am part of his team.
He is going to be replacing my right knee in January and I know Dr. Vannozzi is going to make this surgery and aftercare go as well, if not better, as he stays on top of the cutting-edge of the ever-changing technology in replacements.
A co-worker of mine has been going to NYC for his knee and wanted something closer to where he lives in NJ. I recommended Dr. Vannozzi. He went to see him and his surgery is already scheduled for November. That is a true indication of the compassion, knowledge, and confidence Dr. Vannozzi shows to every person he sees.
There is a running joke with the receptionist every time I come to the office to see Dr. Vannozzi: I have to say “left knee” or “right knee” so they know which knee he will be seeing me for. They are wonderful - I walk in and they know my name!

Dr. Brian Vannozzi is a great surgeon – great bedside manner - very personable. I have had right and left total knee replacements and I am now playing golf 5 weeks after surgery thanks to Dr. V.

I was suffering from chronic knee pain for several years. During my recent vacation to Florida, the pain was so severe that I was in a wheelchair for the entire vacation. That was it. I decided on knee surgery for relief. I always thought that recovery was a very long and painful process.
I went to see Dr. Vannozzi. He suggested a total knee replacement for my left knee. He told me that I would be able to go back to work within six to eight weeks. He assured me that I would be able to walk like a normal person again. I agreed to go ahead, and he performed the surgery.
A few hours after the surgery, the physical therapist made me walk. Such a good experience! I had physical therapy for a few weeks and went back to work after exactly eight weeks. Dr. Vannozzi gave me my life back. His bedside manner amazed me. Most importantly, he is efficient and personable.
I am so thankful to him.

My wife and I call Dr. Gutowski “THE MIRACLE MAN”. The doctor’s bedside manner was really impressive. All my questions before the operations were answered. Although the procedure and rehab came with a good amount of pain, I never thought about not having the second surgery. Dr. Gutowski and his staff prepared me for the operation. I thank Dr. Gutowski for answering all my questions and easing my fears about the operation, but MOST OF ALL, I thank him for making it possible for me to walk without pain or a limp.
I suffered for years with pain until I could hardly walk. Rehab after my first knee replacement (left knee) was a little more difficult because my right knee was bad and I had difficulty standing on it. After my 2nd operation (right knee) the rehab was easier because my left knee was new, so it as much easier to stand with it. I sometimes forget how bad the pain was because my knees are like new! The last 2 years before my operations I was taking at least 800 mg of ibuprofen daily, sometimes as much as 3200 mg. Your man is a Genius. God Bless Him.

I consider it my good fortune to have become a patient of Dr. Pressman since 2007 when he replaced my first hip. Since then, he has replaced my other hip and two shoulders with excellent results. I have obviously found him to be very skillful in addition to being a very kind and compassionate man. He takes the time to listen and explain. I don’t think there is any higher praise than referring your family and friends to a doctor. They have all felt the same way. He is such an asset to your group. I would be remiss if I did not commend Nancy, his surgical scheduler. Her efficiency and thoroughness cannot be compared. She too is a huge asset to your group. She is the best. As you can see, if I had more joints to replace - you know who would do it!
